The worldwide impact of the corona virus

    Flower growers all over the world are hit hard by the coronavirus. Countries are closing their borders, shops are closing their doors and consumers have other things to worry about than buying plants and flowers.

    “I’m sure we’re all facing the same problems”, is the first thing Danish grower Nicolai Abildgaard says. He runs pot and garden plant nursery ByGrowers and is the chairman of Flora Dania. He’s right, almost everywhere in the world, plant and flower growers and traders are suffering enormous losses due to the coronavirus.

    What started in China last December, and subsequently spread across Europe via northern Italy from February, now has the entire world in its grip. The United States, Canada, South America, and it appears that Africa has reported its first corona cases as well.
