New robot moves pots and containers

Instar Robotics has developed a new mobile robotic system that can replace manual moving of pot and container grown plants.

The new robot is being called Trooper. Instar Robotics, a French startup company, developed the system over the last seven months together with French nursery Chatelain. Last Friday 22 March the robot showed its assets during a Smart Farming & Robotic Day, held at agricultural techniques company Abemec in the Netherlands.

The Trooper was demonstrated by remote control. End of this year it will do its job autonomously, assured president and co-founder of Instar Robotics, Nicolas Schoemaeker.

Then the robot will be available to nurseries internationally. It will compete with the HV-100 robot of the American Harvest Automation. Several US nurseries are using this robot already in glasshouses and on container fields outdoor. That robot is now imported in Europe by German/Swiss company Hauert.
