Herman Hamer of Florensis passed away

    Herman Hamer, a shareholder and advisor to the Board of Florensis in Hendrik Ido Ambacht, the Netherlands, passed away on november 12. Hamer was only 60 years old.

As a pioneer and with a strong entrepreneurial spirit Hamer built up a worldwide network”, let the company know. Mid april this year, Leo Hoogendoorn took over the function of Hamer and he was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Florensis. Hamer, however, continued always as Advisor to the Board and thereby closely involved with Florensis.

    Hamer was per 1 January 2015, president of Fleuroselect. Herman was involved in Fleuroselect from the 80s, taking a more prominent role from 2003 when he joined the Board of Directors. From then on he has been active in almost every aspect of the organisation. „Herman was always full of ideas on how to explore new opportunities. He was instrumental in re-organising the secretariat in 2007, he led the business unit Production and Distribution forming the Young Plant Producers group with its annual conference and he was a key player in the successful FleuroStar contest”, let the organisation know. Hamer became President in 2015 and continued to move the organisation forward always aware of the needs of the members and the changing demands of the industry.
