Virtual Chelsea attracted 2.1 million visitors online

The Virtual RHS Chelsea Flower Show has attracted 2.1 million visitors online. In the first 100 days of the British lockdown, 15 million people have visited the RHS website.

Due to the lockdown, the website of the Royal Horticultural Society has been visited much more than ever. In the whole of last year, 20 million people have visited the site – only 5 million more than the visitors in the first 100 days of the lockdown in March, April and May 2020.

The very first Virtual RHS Chelsea Flower Show ever, with video’s and interactive Q&A sessions about gardening, designing and growing, has attracted 118% more young people to the RHS site than ever before: some 588,000 of 2.1 million visitors were aged under 35 years. They formed 28% of the online audience.

The RHS reports that its Instagram audience also grew with visitors aged between 25 and 34 years: by 20% in April, May and June.
