IPM ESSEN 2017 Invites visitors to supporting program workshops, lectures and presentations

    From January 24 to 27, 2017, the world’s leading fair for horticulture will offer an available range with around 1,600 exhibitors from all over the world and an extensive supporting programme. At IPM ESSEN, experts and insiders will invite them to numerous events and will impart their knowledge.

    A few selected highlights are specified below.

    Future Congress for Horticulture and Landscaping with the Top Speaker Sascha Lobo
    The digital transformation is not only confronting medium-sized enterprises with great challenges but also harbouring a lot of chances at the same time. Against this background, the North Rhine-Westphalia Association for Horticulture, Landscaping and Sports Field Construction will stage a future congress entitled “Horticulture and Landscaping Outlooks” from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017. The top speaker will be Sascha Lobo, an Internet blogger, author and strategy consultant with the main focal points of the Internet and brand communication.

    International Horticulture Forum is Dedicated to Megacities and Urbanisation
    The Netherlands will be the partner country of the International Horticulture Forum which will take place from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. on January 26, 2017. It will concentrate on the international trend towards ever larger megacities and on the resulting possibilities for horticulture. Speakers from Germany and the Netherlands will introduce innovative ideas and technical solutions with which the quality of life in cities can be raised substantially.

    -Societal Change in Every Respect, New Chances, New Trends – Aafje Nijman, Trendwatcher

    -Horticultural Systems of the Future: A Chance for Cooperation – Prof. Dr. Ulrichs, Humboldt University of Berlin

    -Greener Environment, Healthier People – Drs. Jolanda Maas, Behavioural Scientist, University of Amsterdam

    -Germany & Netherlands: Successful Partnership – Frank Zeiler (Association of the German Flower Wholesale and Import Trade – BGI) & Robert Roodenburg (Association of Wholesalers in Flower Production – VGB)

    Anybody looking for a new job or conversely for a new employee will be supported by the Jobs Wall for Green Careers at IPM ESSEN. Exhibitors and visitors will be able to place job requests and offers in the national and international garden sectors there free of charge.(Hall 4A, all the days of the fair)

    “Occupation & Future” Forum
    A premiere will be given by the event called “Occupation & Future” in which experts in the green sector will present working areas. From 10.30 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, the forum will introduce to young managers perspectives in occupational fields such as horticultural technology, the specialised trade in flowers and plants or the sales force. The event is being organised by the Eugen Ulmer Publishing House, the Federal Association of University Graduates / Engineers in Horticulture and Landscape Architecture and Messe Essen.

    Information Event Staged by “The Green City” Foundation
    An information event for nursery gardeners, landscape gardeners and decision takers from local authorities will be offered by the Federation of German Nurseries and “The Green City” foundation in cooperation with IPM ESSEN 2017. From 10.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon on January 25, 2017, experts will focus on the subject of “New Diseases and Pests: Consequences for the Green Sector”. T

    The speakers will be Gerhard Renker from the Plant Protection Service of the North Rhine- Westphalia Chamber of Agriculture, Franz-Josef Gövert from the Office for Green Spaces, Environment and Sustainability of the City of Münster as well as Karsten Joksch from the Leitsch Expert Office and Tree Care Company.
