Agapanthus Fireworks wins again at UK show

Agapanthus Fireworks has been crowned as best new plant of the HTA National Plant Show in Coventry.

The new plant was submitted by Fairweather’s Nursery. ’This agapanthus has the wow factor’, the jury commented. Fireworks is bred by De Wet in South Africa and royalty managed by Plantipp.

Last September Fireworks won the top award at Glee Birmingham, and last May the new plant won third price at RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London.

At the HTA National Plant Show Fireworks was best in the category ’herbaceous perennials’. Clematis Elodi (Tudor Patio) from The Bransford Webbs Plant Company and The Guernsey Clematis Nursery won the category ’shrubs and climbers’. Best of the ’trees and conifers’ was Tilia x europaea Golden Sunset from Frank P Matthews. Best annual was Impatiens walleriana Beacon from Ball Colegrave, and best houseplant was Aloe zebrina Danyz from Javado UK.
