Plants in non-plastic pots win press award Plantarium

International trade press at Plantarium voted plants in biodegradable pots as best new retail concept. A ’spectacularly variegated Cercis’ won the press award for best garden, balcony and patio plant.

A new retail concept called Pottburri won the Plantarium Press Award. This concept designed by Dutch nursery FN Kempen consists of garden plants grown in biodegradable pots. FN Kempen supplies retailers in several countries including the UK. According to the international trade press Pottburri responds to a growing demand for non-plastic products.

According to the press the best plant at Plantarium for garden, balcony and patio is Cercis canadensis ’Carolina Sweetheart’. This plant submitted by Boskoop nursery Joh. Stolwijk and Sons ’puts a colour show in various seasons. And its average size makes it an excellent tree for gardens’.
