Virtual trade mission to promote Dutch flower and plant export toward Polish retail

Are you a Dutch company active in the sustainable production or a Dutch floriculture exporter, or do you do both? Would you like to do business with Polish retail customers, catch up with existing Polish business partners or be informed about developments within the Polish retail market? Then join the first Virtual Trade Mission Poland on 23 June 2022.

During this inaugural event, the Dutch Embassy in Warsaw, in association with Polish retail consulant Fresh Market Poland, the international organisation of ornamental plant producers AIPH and media partner FloraCulture International (FCI), will organise individual, tailor-made B2B meetings between Dutch exporters of floricultural products and the most important retail chains in Poland.

The Polish economic miracle is remarkable in many ways. Since the collapse of the Iron Curtain in 1989, the Polish economy has rapidly transformed from a centrally planned economy to a free- market economy. Thanks to solid monetary and fiscal policies, the country avoided a large-scale recession during the 2008-2009 banking crisis and saw its GDP grow around five per cent by 2020, outperforming most Western European countries in economic terms. Why Polish retail?

The Netherlands has many strengths: a technically advanced horticultural sector, environmentally certified products, a global distribution hub and well-oiled logistics, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and an unprecedented range of innovative products. Dutch growers export cut flowers, pot plants, bedding plants, trees, shrubs, perennials, and flower bulbs to all corners of the world.

As the sale of flowers and plants in Polish supermarkets and DIY stores is gaining ground and becoming more professional, the Embassy of the Netherlands wishes to profile the country as a supplier of high-quality and sustainably cultivated flowers, plants, trees, and bulbs.

Which Polish retail chains are participating? Among the participants are internationally operating  supermarket chains and DIY stores . An overview of the participants can be found at Polish Trade Mission • AIPH.

The Online Trade Mission Poland is open to Dutch exporters of floricultural products in the broadest sense of the word. So every Dutch exporter of cut flowers, bouquets, houseplants, garden plants, shrubs, trees and bulbs can register. Registration closes on Monday, 20 June. Secure your place at Polish Trade Mission • AIPH.

The Virtual Horticulture Trade Mission Poland is on 23 June 2022 from 8 am to 5 pm.

On Wednesday 8 June, the Virtual Trade Mission Poland kick-offs with a free, 90-minute webinar  showcasing a line-up of international speakers. These will seek answers to how the Netherlands and Poland can join forces to make the flower and plant category sale in the Polish retail channel more profitable, reduce losses, and make the presentation on the retail shelf even more attractive.
