American robot spaces plants autonomously

De Jong Plant is the first nursery in the Netherlands employing an American mobile robot who spaces plants autonomously.

The robot is developed and built by US company Harvest Automation. The model HV-100 is working already on several US nurseries, both indoor and outdoor crops on concrete and gravel beds. A few years ago the robot was demonstrated at German trade show IPM, but at that time there wasn’t an import company for Europe.

Now there is with the German/Swiss Hauert. They demonstrated the robot last year at a few German nurseries, and at De Jong Plant in the Netherlands. Now the Dutch hydrangea specialized nursery rents a robot for furthermore testing and helping further development.

So far the Dutch are satisfied about their new employee. He does what you tell him to do, also following his boss in the greenhouse:
