Danziger to participate at HortEx Vietnam 2019

The organisers of HortEx Vietnam announce the participation of Danziger (Israel), another key industry player within the floriculture sector, at HortEx Vietnam 2019.

Founded in 1953, Danziger is today one of the world’s most innovative floriculture companies.

The company is engaged in the research, breeding, development, propagation, production, sale and marketing of varieties of cut flowers, annuals and perennials – creating extraordinary flower varieties and beautiful assortments that help their customers along the entire value chain achieve extraordinary success.

Danziger operates advanced propagation facilities in Israel, Guatemala, Kenya, and Colombia – ensuring a continuous supply of clean, high quality vegetative propagation material to around 1000 customers in over 60 countries.

The company supplies propagation materials, in the form of cuttings, plants and in-vitro, via a highly efficient cold chain distribution network. All Danziger products adhere to strict propagation and distribution standards, as well as environmental, fair trade and fair working practices.

Vietnam has the potential to become one of the world’s largest flower exporters as flowers can be grown in every part of the country and especially in areas like Lam Dong, Sapa (Lao Cai), Hanoi, Hai Phong and regions of Mekong Delta, with average temperatures of 20 degree celsius these are the ideal places for them to grow.

In addition Vietnam has a very large domestic market; it is estimated that Vietnam consumes approximately 5 billion stems a year.

This high domestic consumption makes Vietnam different as to other flower producing countries like for example Colombia, Ecuador, Kenya and Ethiopia where the domestic markets are relatively small.

Vietnam is the fastest growing economy in the ASEAN region (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) with an average GDP growth of 7.5% per year.

The middle and affluent class (MAC) in Vietnam will double in size between 2014 and 2020, from 12 million to 33 million. MAC consumers, whose income is from VND15 million (US$714) or more a month, are also spreading out to other provinces and cities.

Total population of Vietnam is around 95 million people.

The organisers are very pleased to see that the exhibition is attracting more and more key industry players and is becoming a major platform for the entire horticulture and floriculture sector in Vietnam and neighbouring countries.

The coming edition of HortEx Vietnam is being held from 13-15 March 2019 in the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC)
