Topsector Tuinbouw & Uitgangsmaterialen (T&U) nodigt innovatieve start-ups uit mee te dingen naar de Topsector T&U Innovation Prize. Ben je bezig met veelbelovende ‘cross border innovations’ die bijdragen aan een duurzame tuinbouw, dan je jezelf tot en met zondag 15 augustus 2021 aanmelden en kans maken op onder andere kans op € 25.000, – onderzoeksbudget.
In 2021 vindt voor de 3e keer de uitreiking van de Topsector T&U Innovation Prize 2021 plaats. In deze editie is gekozen voor internationale en grensverleggende innovaties die bijdragen aan het realiseren van een duurzame tuinbouw: cross border innovations. Denk hierbij aan producten en services die voor tuinbouw bijdragen aan ‘de volgende stap in de kringlooptuinbouw of klimaat-neutrale tuinbouw’ , ’het verbeteren van gezondheid en veiligheid van ons voedsel’ of ’Werken aan duurzaam watergebruik’.
Hoofdprijs is €25.000
Onder de inzenders maken tien deelnemers kans op een market readiness training van World Startup. Hierbij werken ze aan hun businessmodel, strategie, marketing & sales en krijgen ze begeleiding bij de voorbereiding van hun pitch voor de jury. Daarnaast krijgen de inzenders de mogelijkheid voor projectondersteuning door studenten van Wageningen University & Research: het Academic Consultancy Training programma.
Het winnende team ontvangt een kennisvoucher ter waarde van €25.000 om samen met Wageningen University & Research het concept verder uit te werken. Daarnaast krijgt de winnaar begeleiding op maat van een T&U innovatie-makelaar (20 uur ter waarde van € 2.500).
Naast de juryprijs zal er ook een publieksprijs uitgereikt worden: € 1.500 en een HortiTech Startup Membership van zes maanden met toegang tot netwerk, kennis en faciliteiten van innovatieplatform HortiHeroes en World Horti Center.

Aanmelden kan t/m aanstaande 15 augustus via het aanmeldformulier. Donderdag 7 oktober is de prijsuitreiking.
Sigrow won in 2020
Het Wageningse bedrijf Sigrow heeft de innovatieprijs van Topsector T&U in 2020 gewonnen. Hun thermische camera meet de temperatuur van het blad en de omringende lucht meten en software vertaalt dit naar de stand van het huidmondje. Dat geeft info over de verdamping van het gewas.
