Danish trade fair Handelspladsen goes virutally

This year, as a consequence of COVID-19, the traditional Trading Centre for Pot Plants, Handelspladsen, was cancelled for visitors in October. With the assistance of Floradania Marketing, the industry has established a virtual Trading Centre, providing everyone with the opportunity to view the range.

The virtual Trading Centre will be launched on October 29 and provide an easy overview of the available products and contact information for those producers taking part.

    Channel of the future

The exhibition will be attended by 30 producers with more than 430 cultures. Peter Larsen-Ledet of Floradania Marketing says: “Virtual exhibitions could become the communication channel of the future, given that COVID-19 places restrictions not only on travel, but also on gatherings in larger groups – as we recently witnessed with IPM Essen 2021, which was just been cancelled. The spring Trading Centre for Pot Plants will take place in March 2021, featuring the industry’s spring range, which is usually even greater than the current range. The March Trading Centre will be realised to the extent permitted by the guidelines in force at the time. But the Danish growers are already working all out on a virtual version, which, if nothing else, can take place in parallel with a physical version.

Handelspladsen is normally held in Odense (Denmark) four times a year,
